TELLING PORKIES. π
Last Thursday was my lucky day!
You know how people put things out on the kerbside they no longer want, hoping someone else might use them? As they say, one person's rubbish is another person's treasure.
Well, on Thursday, I struck gold. Or, in this case, plastic.
I was driving through a nearby suburb when I spotted a brand-new wheelie bin, sitting at the kerbside.
Now, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially if it's got wheels.
I stopped the car, opened the tailgate, and, having established that my car was just big enough to accommodate my new acquisition, loaded it aboard. Result! One shiny new wheelie bin, absolutely free. You can't argue with that.
As I drove off, I realised all the neighbours had wheelie bins at the kerbside, though not in as good condition as the one I'd loaded into the car.
But here's the strange part.
You'd think that if you were going to give away a wheelie bin, you'd have the decency to empty your household rubbish out of it first. Apparently not.
Still, I'm not complaining. I've gained a perfectly good bin, and I have an old one to give away.
Thank you, whoever you are. I'll put it to good use, though I might draw the line at returning your rubbish. π
